*position overview*
the field service engineer provides remote and on-site technical support to our mexico customers for repairs, process issues, and equipment optimization. This role serves as a trusted advisor to our customers, and requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer service. The field service engineer will not only conduct remote troubleshooting and diagnosis, but also provide in-person support as needed at our customer sites, including during the equipment installation process.
*key responsibilities*
- repairs machines and conducts installations at customers' facilities
- installs hardware and software upgrades
- troubleshoots and provides feedback to the factory on machine issues
- conducts training courses at customer facilities
- develops processes for customers
- supports sales personnel by answering questions, forwarding information, and visiting customers when required
- travels within mexico as needed
- performs other duties as assigned
*experience and qualifications*
- associate's or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or software engineering preferred; or at minimum 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-5 years' of experience in the design, repair, or maintenance service of semiconductor industrial back-end equipment preferred
- experience in semiconductor back-end process/equipment preferred
- adept analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- strong oral and written communication skills
- able to travel to the us for training and machine buy-offs
- ability to travel within mexico on a frequent basis is a must
- ability to work overtime when necessary

the physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The worker must be able to be ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms, in addition to all body agility emphasized. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. The worker will also be bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet, and extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
