senior financial analyst / vendor rebates
manage ww vendor rebates area for designated business unit. Gathers geo financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (e.g., flash, actuals and budget) to influence decisions within the business and to drive cross-business initiatives. Responsible for managing month-end close processes and for interfacing with the hpe external financial reporting team to ensure that adequate business controls and accounting policies are being maintained – for managed business unit.
finance partners with various business and functional teams to ensure that capital is deployed to secure the greatest return on investment for the company. We gather financial data and perform financial analyses and reporting (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, pricing, etc.) to influence decisions within businesses and to drive cross-business initiatives (e.g., mergers & acquisitions). We also drive the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends and by working in concert with multiple stakeholders to formulate forward-looking forecasts that are aligned with business and corporate objectives. We communicate and drive adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (gaap) and the organization's financial goals and policies. Finance has the fiduciary responsibility to represent financial results correctly both internally and externally and to ensure that we have strong business controls.
how you'll make your mark:
* manage ww vendor rebates area for designated business unit. Gathers regional as well as geo financial data and performs financial analyses and reporting (e.g., flash, actuals and budget) to influence decisions within the business and to drive cross-business initiatives.
* vendor rebates account reconciliations for managed business unit to ensure that vendor rebate receivables and other account balances on the balance sheet are appropriate and are released in harmony with hpe accounting policies and us generally accepted accounting principles.
* engagement with efr, geo finance, global strategic sourcing and other key stakeholders to support the development of short-term and long-term forecasts of vendor rebates for the aforementioned businesses—with supporting analytics and narrative reporting.
* oversight for credit memo and debit memo processing related to the receipt and return of component rebates driven by hpe purchases and returns of components from intel and other suppliers.
* engagement with geo finance, global strategic sourcing and other key stakeholders to evolve and improve end-to-end vendor rebate-related processes to enable such processes to scale as deal-specific and volume purchase-related rebates increase over time.
about you:
* first level university degree with a focus in accounting, finance or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (e.g., cpa, mba) preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in an accounting or finance function.
* previous supply chain experience is not required, but a significant plus.
* excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
* ability to work across time zones and to establish close working relationships with cross-functional teams.
* strong communication and influencing skills.
* good business acumen.
* good understanding of the company's policies and processes.
* strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
* solid business application skills (e.g., microsoft excel, powerpoint, sap, sap jv workflow).
* execution focus and structure: action and results orientated, “can do” attitude, highly analytical.
