*trade compliance program manager*
*major function*:
- document shipments to ensure that they comply customs rules and regulations, according to a rate coding system, meeting customers' needs and in communication with both customs agencies: mexican and american.
manages all trade related functions and programs for mexicali manufacturing transfers.
*essential functions*:
- supports the customs & logistics manager to supervise and manage the customs personnel in all their responsibilities and activities related to the foreign trade operations of the department.
- reviews all invoices, documents and formats related to the foreign trade operations and their compliance with related laws.
- prepares reports and procedures that the company requires, as well as reports for the customs manager and /or management.
- us classifies product with an hts, coordinates with mexico broker on mexico classifications, and ensure proper classifications are maintained in the company's business software systems.
- completes trade compliance action items needed for mexicali manufacturing transfers.
- responds to inquiries and requests for information from us and mx customs
- supports in controlling the budget and expenses of customs department.
- remains up to date in customs procedures and foreign trade law
- manages and controls annex 24.
- aids in us cost reconciliation and pedimento reconciliation processes
- manages and executes the iva and ieps certification renewal procedure.
- maintains accurate customs document filing per established procedures.
- reviews and analyzes the payments of pedimentos for accuracy.
- reviews the invoices of the brokerage service providers to ensure proper rates are applied.
- prepares and manages submission of the annual maquiladora/toll manufacturing declarations.
- maintains and controls records and reports of machinery and equipment, as well as their proper labeling.
- performs other duties or special projects as assigned by their manager.
*education and experience*:
- professional college degree in international business trade or related to import/export area, such as: international relations, accountant, business administration, etc.
- 3-5 years of experience in the position in electronics related industry
- knowledge of countries customs service regulations and legislations.
- bilingual - english and spanish
*skills and abilities*:
- manage and knowledge of any customs control software (ixport; millenium; zoe).
- able to track, measure, analyze and report data.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in english and spanish.
- able to run efficient meetings and make formal presentations to small or large groups.
self-directed (able to work with minimum supervision), a team player, and able to manage projects successfully.
- able to juggle multiple responsibilities, respond to emergencies and decisively set priorities in changing circumstances.
- competent in access, word, powerpoint, excel, ace portal, and sap.
- strong interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and resolve problems with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- able to handle stressful situations.
