As a *industrial test development engineer* you’ll be responsible for developing the manufacturing test system for global manufacturing. You will optimize test requirements for new and unique products to achieve the lowest possible “defect escape rate” for the lowest integral test costs. You will also act as a project leader for manufacturing test; preparation, creation & implementation of test equipment and process, according to project schedule requirements.

*what you’ll do*:
- manage the budgeting, implementation, release and support of the test development within npi projects to ensure optimal test-coverage, programmability and adjustability by working closely with a cross functional r&d team and global manufacturers.
- establish validation plans, manage the execution and create the compliant validation records for test designs and test deployments.
- support product and process implementation/changes between global manufacturers, 3rd party original equipment manufacturers (oems) and multiple r&d teams.
- create test/programming equipment planning (of events / activities) and maintain test system documentations, maintaining associated regulation compliance and controls.
- research, evaluate, benchmark and recommend new technologies related to testing.
- utilize signify information management systems to control bill of materials, manage engineering change orders, and interface to our supply chain process.
- capture and analyze product/process life cycle data, driving new feature implementation and continuous improvement in design, manufacturing process and test.
*your qualifications*:
- bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or related discipline
- experienced with, or educated in, design for manufacturing test (firmware, ee, optics experience a plus)
- 5+ years of experience with programming, debugging and testing in labview, teststand (python c or visual basic preferred)
- 5+ years of experience with dmms, daq, oscilloscopes, power sources, power meters, relays
- 5+ years of experience with communication protocols like ethernet, usb, spi, i2c, uart, gpio, rs232, rs485. Knowledgeable of lighting technologies and protocols like kinet, dmx, & rdm preferred.
- able to translate development needs into hardware and software system requirements. Experienced with digital electronic designs with hardware and software functions.
- experienced conducting and participating in code and schematic reviews.
- highly organized with strong interpersonal, project management and communication skills
- capable of working independently and cooperatively with internal departments, contract manufacturers, and external suppliers to develop and deliver solutions.
