*job description summary*: as a senior category manager you will hold a pivotal role in driving savings and efficiencies through management & consolidation of the supplier base.
you will collaborate with regional category leaders, global sourcing/category leaders, business leaders and their teams, managing (among others) on global marketing services.
the role reports directly to the global category leader and will need to cover us eastern/central time zone.
this role may work from home and/or from the local ge healthcare office to be closer to their stakeholders.

*responsibilities*:
- leads global marketing consolidation project over the next several years to deliver brand governance & continuity across the supply base, savings and supplier consolidation.
- partners with key business stakeholders to support the needs of the business.
- develops solutions and delivers on priorities for the designated scope.
maintains metrics for sourcing scope and identifies new areas of opportunity to deliver or exceed targets.
- develops and implements indirect sourcing strategy, processes or gehc policies for the category manager's agreed scope and in line with gehc global sourcing initiatives.
- leads full request for proposal & bidding process including spend analysis, rfx, quotes analysis, pricing, and contract & statement of work negotiations and execution.
- enforces and manages compliance with preferred suppliers (psl) and strategically manage tail-spend to migrate to preferred suppliers wherever possible.
- owns achieving indirect savings targets, leading, and running project execution across their supply base.
- responsible for risk management in supplier base ensuring all compliance and quality standards are met.
- liaises with stakeholders and sourcing colleagues across the organization to understand / share best practices and leverage expertise.
- identifies and owns global and cross strategic business unit (sbu) supply base.
leverage buying power to maximize opportunities.
- drives business metrics affected by indirect sourcing, identifies new areas of cost out and implements operating efficiency.
- provides guidance, feedback and support to other sourcing leaders including regional sourcing/category leaders covering the same spend.
- provides appropriate contract coverage for goods and services globally.
be proficient in executing the gehc legal templates and negotiating terms and conditions, service levels and pricing with suppliers.
- identifies and reports any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
- develops and maintains fully qualified and compliant supply base.
*qualifications*:
- master's degree from an accredited university or college in a related field such as (but not limited to) business, finance or health services.
- minimum 10 years of professional services sourcing experience in a large corporate sourcing environment including global & role specific sub-commodity experience.
- negotiated large complex services contracts & engagements.
- delivered cross functional/business savings and deployed global/region wide initiatives and projects.
- willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time.
