.position summary: the position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with us and mexican customs regulations for regal rexnord's maquiladora operation in chihuahua, chihuahua.
this includes but is not limited to: hts classification, valuation, origin management, annex 24 and annex 30 control, fixed assets controls, broker management as applicable, transaction auditing, recordkeeping, policies and procedures, and related trainingmajor responsibilities:- subject matter expert for all aspects of customs compliance related to mexican maquiladora operations and commercial operations.- responsible to review any law or regulations changes and their impact to the operation.
communicate to stakeholders accordingly.- maintain up-to-date automated accounting of all trade cargo data (imports, bills of materials, and exports) to ensure inventories in the annex 24 match erp system and physical inventories.- management and administration of fixed assets.- stablish and maintain proper controls to keep a healthy annex 30 statement and reporting.- apropriate administration of sub-maquila compliance- maintain the civa and ctpat/oea certifications- keep control of waste and scrap, as well as the method of disposal.- ensure the accuracy of trade data in the trade compliance systems- properly qualify products under usmca/t-mec for inter-company and customer exports and run an annual solicitation campaign, aiming to 100% response rate- maintain an evergreen database of all imported and exported material numbers to include hts classification, country of origin and usmca qualification.- ensure timely clearance of shipments through mx customs while safeguarding regal rexnord's customs compliance policies are being followed.- implementation of kpi´s and audit of import and export declarations for continuous improvement as applicable.- obtain special import permits as applicable (i.e., steel).- us import and export declarations knowledge- section 301 tariffrequired education / experience / skills:- excellent leadership skills to create a culture of compliance throughout functions, levels and platforms in the organization- excellent verbal and written communication skills- ability to be analytically oriented and able to effectively problem solve and deliver on objectives- strong attention to detail, dependable, and organized- ability and skill with multitasking in a fast paced, fast growth and constantly changing environment- excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.- demonstrated ability to complete projects on time- strong interpersonal skills- bachelor's degree from an accredited institution- minimum 5 years of experience with international trade and compliance- knowledge of u.s. and mx customs regulations and other governmental agencies
