*missions and purpose of this position*:
the category manager gs (group services) & epp services (energy, environment, plant suppliers), region north america is responsible for the development and implementation of the regional category strategy in alignment with the global strategy for the assigned service group and its subcategories for all divisions and affiliated companies.
this includes, but is not limited to, janitorial, security, medical, integrated fm, employee transportation, and sorting and rework services.
the global and regional approach creates an added value for all business units in terms of commercial, logístical and even technical enhancements, i.e.
sustainable total cost reduction, support quality initiatives for internal customers, prolongation of payment terms, warranty and liability optimization, ensuring the availability of materials and services, data transparency and process improvements as well as strengthening of relationship to strategic business partners (internally and externally).
*tasks*:
- purchasing strategy: support implementation of the global purchasing strategy.
develop, maintain, align, communicate and implement regional purchasing strategies (category strategy papers, preferred supplier panel) in alignment with all respective stakeholders*
- pooling & strategic supplier panel: drive the execution of market intelligence studies and ensure the ideal balance of competition and pooling through e.g.
supplier reduction and implementation of strategic suppliers to achieve a maximum cost reduction contribution and best possible synergy effects
- supplier relationship management: identify, develop and promote global and regional strategic suppliers based on srm requirements and considering the csp definitions.
conduct strategic supplier meetings helping to achieve further benefits in the future.
drive the implementation of global strategic suppliers with favorable negotiated prices, terms and conditions in all relevant countries
- contracts: manage and develop the number of favorable price and framework agreements in legal, logístical, commercial and partly even technical terms (requirement books, specifications, standards) in close alignment with stakeholders and steer the implementation
- sourcing projects: support global sourcing projects as well as identify, initiate and tender regional projects in cooperation with the respective stakeholder*
- ceos: process ceos free text shopping carts above a defined threshold according the respective purchasing rules
- kpi's: implement and track relevant kpi's on a regional scale according the global target & kpi settings
- compliance: ensure compliance with business partner code of conduct and continental code of conduct
*organization and magnitude*:
- this position is reporting functionally to : a) to the head of global category tmf and b) to the head of global category ps and disciplinary to senior regional category manager

*qualifications*:
- academic degree in business administration, engineering or comparable qualification
- minimum 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, respective material group preferred
- leadership abilities/experience preferred
- knowledge of ms office tools as well as in sap r/3 and world class sourcing platforms
- english and spanish language skills written and spoken
- affinity for cooperation with people and intercultural competences
- strong negotiating skills, persuasion and communication skills
- ability to work under pressure, driving execution
- creativity, reliability, integrity, teamwork, operates with global perspective
- willingness to travel
