The delivery area/shift manager supports the last mile operations within a delivery station. The role is responsible for managing a team of over 20 hourly employees, overseeing safety metrics, attrition, payroll, shifts, vacations, overtime, and amzl ops metrics such as delivery efficiency, number of routes, and cost per shipment.the impacts of this position include:operational kpis and cost goals in the strategic plan, with the overriding goal of maximizing customer satisfaction and long-term shareholder value.the delivery area/shift manager should coach and mentor the process assistants team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and bench strength for the organization. The successful candidate will continuously improve the efficiency of delivery processes and instill a culture of customer obsession, safety, and best-practice sharing. You will maintain safety standards within your team and across your site while monitoring and maintaining process efficiency. Your daily tasks will include routine team management and operational tasks, alongside individual escalations, process improvement work, and operational contingency planning.as a key part of the operations team, you will work with colleagues in other teams and external partners to meet customer demands and targets, analyzing data and performance metrics with business area leaders, and discussing operational implications of technical improvements with engineers.basic qualifications- bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of amazon (blue badge/fte) experience.- flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.- advanced knowledge of microsoft excel, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, vba, and data links.- 2+ years of direct management experience for employees and their performance.- intermediate-advanced english (b2+).- 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.preferred qualifications- mba or similar.- experience using lean manufacturing methodologies.- previous experience in project management.- experience managing department kpis and driving results.- bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation, or related fields.- logistics background from an operations environment, preferably from first-middle mile ops.amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
