position summary
the it communications specialist will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing effective communication strategies within the it department and across the organization. This role involves translating complex it concepts into clear, accessible information to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of it initiatives, updates, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical knowledge and exceptional communication skills, along with a strong understanding of the importance of effective stakeholder engagement.
key responsibilities:
1. develop and implement communication plans that effectively inform stakeholders about it initiatives, system updates, and change management processes.
2. create engaging, accurate, and accessible content for various communication mediums, including emails, intranet updates, presentations, and other media.
3. as required, create clear and concise documentation, including user guides, faqs, and system release notes that effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
4. publish documentation such as user guides, faqs, communications, quick tips, and other items in servicenow.
5. collaborate with it teams to gather information about ongoing projects, system enhancements, and it policies to disseminate relevant content.
6. act as a point of contact for communication-related inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses to stakeholders.
7. organize or help support the organization of training sessions, workshops, and informational meetings to enhance understanding of it tools and services.
8. ensure that all communication aligns with the overall branding and messaging of the organization.
9. monitor feedback and engagement metrics to assess communication effectiveness and continuously improve strategies.
10. use translation tools to translate communications and other documentation into spanish, portuguese, or french.
11. coordinate the release of common it communications across the americas region.
12. serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to it communications.
13. up to 25% of time may be assigned to work as part of the noram it collaboration squad.
14. stay informed about industry trends and best practices in it communication to enhance the overall communication framework within the department.
minimum requirements:
1. bachelor’s degree in communications, information technology, public relations, or a related field.
2. at least 3 years of experience in communication roles, with a focus on it-related communications preferred.
3. strong grasp of it concepts and terminology, with the ability to translate complex information into easily understandable content.
4. excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail. Communications are primarily done in english.
5. proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including content management systems and project collaboration software.
6. strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and departments.
7. demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
