we're in search of an experienced tax specialist to join our team.
we are currently looking to hire an experienced and dynamic tax payroll auditor.
*responsibilities*:
- conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and company policies.
- review and reconcile payroll discrepancies, investigating issues and implementing corrective measures.
- ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll and employee compensation.
- prepare and submit necessary tax filings and reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- analyze payroll data and trends to identify potential areas of risk or improvement.
- utilize software tools to generate reports and insights for management.
- work closely with the hr and finance departments to streamline payroll processes and resolve any discrepancies.
- assist in the training of hr personnel on payroll tax regulations and best practices.
- maintain accurate and organized records of audits, findings, and recommendations.
- prepare documentation for external audits and provide support during the audit process.
- contribute to the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- stay updated on changes in tax legislation and industry standards to inform policy revisions.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's' degree in finance or accounting or related discipline is required
- 4-5 years of proven experience as a payroll auditor or in a similar role, preferably within the logistics or transportation sector.
- strong computer skills, particularly with microsoft office, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- proficiency in payroll software and microsoft office suite (excel, word).
- excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and present findings clearly.
- certification (e.g., cpa, cpp) is a plus.
