The role is responsible for securing new business into and out of mexico for c.r. England’s otr, intermodal or brokerage divisions. The customer base for this position includes all customers shipping freight across the u.s./mexico border, with strong emphasis on the laredo border crossing. This position is tasked with developing strong customer relationships, selling logistics solutions, and actively pursuing new business opportunities and being awarded new business. This position will also perform as a consultant and assistant to the u.s. Domestic sales team in increasing cross-border volumes within their existing accounts.
duties and responsibilities:
* find new customers that ship into or out of mexico, primarily via laredo, and to understand their business needs and objectives, establish c.r. England as a credible and trustworthy business partner.
* identify and develop a robust pipeline of opportunities to ensure revenue and volume growth.
* collaborate with other departments to develop pricing and service solutions to support customers’ unique needs while meeting / exceeding company goals such as volume, revenue, service, and metrics.
* negotiate all pricing, including contract renewals and spot quotes and stay up to date on market trends, communicating any findings to upper management for strategic decision making.
* organize and lead start up calls and regular check-ins with customers.
* establish and maintain solid relationships with top companies in the sector, as well as build and manage an existing portfolio of key clients.
* ensure accurate and timely rate publications.
* work as the customer advocate with internal departments to facilitate resolution of issues related to billing, service, capacity, credit, claims, etc.
* utilize numerous activity and performance measurements, including customer-specific scorecards and service metrics.
* optimize traffic mix within your territory to balance between committed customer freight and broker traffic.

work experience requirements:
* 5 + proven years of successful sales experience in the logistics and transportation industry.
* proven track record in cold calling, setting appointments, presenting and meeting with potential customers, pricing, proposals through to closing the deal.
* strong network of potential clients within the logistics industry.
education, experience, and licensing requirements:
* bachelor's degree in marketing, logistics, international business or similar.
* proficient in use of microsoft office; i.e. Excel, word, teams, outlook, sharepoint as well as in-house crm, dashboard analytics, expense reporting, and transportation management systems.
other requirements:
* excellent command of the english language, in both written and verbal communications.
* frequent travel, up to 50-60% at times.
* after hours or weekend work as required by customer demands and/or seasonality.
