Position summary
- the electrical design engineer will develop electrical design for standard and special units of the chilled water systems business unit. He/she will closely follow objectives of quality, environment and costs working in cooperation with manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, procurement, suppliers, mechanical engineering, and product marketing.
responsibilities
- work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
- designing of the product electrical features, owner of the dimensioning of the principal parts of assemblies.
- creates and reviews product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials).
- creates design solutions for special products.
- work with controls engineering in the creation of controls connection guides.
- collaborates with external suppliers and colleagues in different regions.
- analyze and resolve technical issues on cws products.
- meets objectives of cost, quality, environment, and execution time.
qualifications
- bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (required).
- alternate, bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of professional experience on electrical design.
- 4+ years working as electrical design engineer.
- work experience with electrical components and devices (wires, contactors, vfd's, fuses, transformers, etc.).
- experience on chillers or hvac products for data centers is a plus.
- 4+ years of cad experience.
- creo is desired.
- experience electrical schematics (creation and sustaining).
- experience of system design following international electrical regulations and standards (e.g. Ul, csa, md, iec, and ieee).
- experience with ul/csa 60335-2-40 or ul 1995/csa c22.2, is a plus.
- experience with plm and pdm tools.
- result oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible, well organized, mentor, pro-active.
physical & environmental demands
- when required to support factory operations, it will be needed to wear safety equipment (boots, gloves, sleeves, helmet, and safety glasses).
- no other physical or environmental demands.
time travel required
- up to 10% (regional or global) and flexible to work on monterrey campus sites (apodaca and santa catarina).
