this position is for a sales professional to manage key intermodal customers. the candidate will lead the generation of quality revenue growth and value through building and maintaining the ongoing and potential client relationships in order to create demand for the company’s services and generates new revenue opportunities across the global organization. It coordinates strategies and efforts on behalf of clients to create new business development, contract negotiations/renewals and execution of price and business strategies, and ensure retention and satisfaction. This position works closely with marketing, relationship management, and technology associates across the enterprise to determine the best solutions for clients through existing and future products and services. It cultivates and develops lasting client relations and demonstrates a solid understanding of the business, financials, products/services, the market, and the needs of clients.
accountabilities
* maintains direct channel of communication with other kcs departments to ensure marketing and sales plans and goals are aligned with other departments.
* manages customer relationships with key current and future customers, partners and stakeholder organizations as required to achieve the business strategy
* effectively communicate terms of sale and collaborate with key stakeholder by actively execute account and commodity sales strategy
* serves as the main contact for assigned customers.
* establishes strategy for markets for which they are responsible; develops account strategies and plans.
* plans and owns oversight and analysis of revenue and contributions; forecasts and determines market outlook for area of responsibility.
* develop creative solutions and make good value trades during negotiations
* works to optimize market share, meet yield, price, total revenue targets and standardshandles all business development activities within business unit.

ideal candidate qualifications
required
* bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study.
* minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* bilingual in both english and spanish, written and spoken.
preferred
* advanced degree in business, marketing, or related field.
* kcs network experience, specifically in sales, marketing, customer relations, rail or logistics.

* this position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of monday through friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
* this position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
