the ehs and facilities manager for mammotome is responsible for assessing a company's workflow and determining what practices are necessary to keep employees safe on the job and keep the tijuana plant facilities operating at its maximum efficiency. The ehs and facilities manager, in conjunction with members of the staff management team, implements policies for the use of personal protective equipment.
this position is part of the ehs and facilities team located in tijuana, baja california, mexico and will be on-site. At mammotome, our passion is driving innovative technologies that create efficiencies, while never forgetting that at the heart of every breast cancer journey is a patient.
in this role, you will have the opportunity to:
* prepare statistical information on the required legal schedule regarding job-related accidents for social security (imss) and stps (labor department) formats.
* act as the first contact, under guidance, for local, state, and federal entities for environmental, health, or safety topics.
* prepare statistical information about waste management and environmental resources for monitoring and reporting under previous review to danaher environmental metrics.
* maintain records of biological waste manifests and special reporting.
* be responsible for preventive maintenance of all facilities and plant equipment (hvac, water treatment, air compressor, fire protection system, etc).
* design, negotiate, and manage department objectives and budgets, as well as strategies and action plans to achieve cost objectives.
* validate and authorize standard operating procedures for the facilities maintenance function.
the essential requirements of the job include:
* professional degree in environmental engineering or equivalent.
* minimum of 5 years experience.
* fluent in english.
* knowledge of imss, stps, semarnat, and ssa official norms procedures.
* experience in accidents investigation / root cause analysis.
* experience in handling local, state, and federal safety & hygiene inspections and environmental matters.
* broad knowledge of iso 13485 and iso 14001 systems.
it would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
* broad experience in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fire protection systems.
* broad experience in developing construction, modification, and/or transition projects.
* personnel management and coordination experience.
