Your job
develop models for generating facilities under construction, such as utility scale solar, energy storage, or facilities which include both technologies.
our team
depcom power, inc is a leader in the engineering, procurement, construction (epc), operation and maintenance (o&m), repowering and energy storage services for the u.s. utility solar and energy industries. Our rapid growth, reputation and strong position in the energy market offer dynamic career opportunities for individuals seeking an exciting work environment in america’s fastest growing sector.
what you will do
1. develop generic and user-defined models using pslf/psse/pscad software for use during initial submissions of models for generating facilities under construction, such as utility scale solar, energy storage, or facilities which include both technologies
2. develop system-level plant models for steady-state and transient analysis for electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, grounding systems analysis, transient over-voltage, total harmonic distortion, lightning risk assessment, transfer limits and other ac system studies
3. coordinate with lead design engineers on system studies and how it may impact the current design of the facility between the equipment selection, mv collection system(s), and substation design and equipment ratings.
4. drive model validation efforts for newly commissioned plants that include testing and submission on behalf of ownership.
5. perform testing and model validation for clients as a subject matter expert.
6. ability to lead conversations on tasks to technical and non-technical employees and customers.
7. seek knowledge and input from others to help innovate procedures and processes to perform model development, power plant testing, and model validation reporting.
