International company that manufactures an impressive collection of water products for worldwide distribution is looking for a new team member.
cost analyst
the cost analyst will be responsible for product costing, annual burden/ overhead studies and setting, inventory valuation, departamental comparisons to plan/ budget / forecast, maintenance of costed bills of materials, integrity of perpetual inventory - stock status report and variance analysis.
duties
1. maintain product costing records (bill of material, manufacturing process routings, unit pricing, labor and overhead rates, etc.) in erp system in accordance with company policy,
2. ensure integrity of daily perpetual inventory / stock status listing,
3. cost and burden study of production and support operations, customer requirements, capacity utilization, floorspace requirements,
4. monitor cycle counting activity, integrity and gain / loss - root cause analysis, -identification, implementation, monitoring and reporting of cost reduction opportunities, actual and prospective,
5. aid company financial analysis via tracking of categorical costs and actual variances from baseline costs,
6. assist function manager with their understanding of line - item account variances, actual v. baseline cost and integrate cost containment perspectives where necessary,
7. perform annual cost / burden study and standards revision,
8. perform make-buy analyses and alternative sourcing studies considering fully loaded / landed costs,
9. develop inventory valuation methodology for financial statement presentation in accordance with gaap (lower of cost or market),
10. participate in month end closing and analysis,
11. develop actionable management reporting, dashboards, and kpis as well as oversee monthly variance analysis and operating reviews to track overall business success,
12. work closely and collaborate with management teams to gather analyze and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, operating forecasts and other analytical projects,
13. be an integral role in the implementation of new erp system
requirements
14. bachelor degree in business administration, accounting, finance or equivalent experience
15. 3 years experience in cost analyst
16. extensive experience building financial models
17. strong computer and financial skills -excellent analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills
18. strong written and verbal communication
19. bilingual english/spanish
