work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, oracle database administration support for production systems and provide dba services to application development teams, including database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide dba support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.
our main task is to keep operating efficiently in all the environments that are under our shelter.
the team works globally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In mexico, shifts of 8 hours a day from monday to sunday are covered.
given the nature of the work, the engineer must have experience in the support area and have the following skills:
1. oracle database administration.
2. administration of application servers such as weblogic, apache, etc.
3. knowledge in operating systems such as unix, linux, windows, etc.
4. knowledge of programming languages: c++, java, shell scripting, python, etc.
5. ability to reverse engineer.
6. problem resolution.
7. work under pressure.
8. great communication.
responsibilities
provide development and/or production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved rdbms, etl and database tools.
list of activities/responsibilities to be performed by the engineer in mexico:
1. english language proficiency.
2. attend calls for issues resolution.
3. collaborate with other teams to solve problems.
4. application of patches (databases and fusion).
5. monitoring and log collection.
6. troubleshooting problems (in real-time or historical).
7. creation, tracking and resolution of tickets for databases (awr, queries execution, script execution, exports, space management, troubleshooting).
8. creation, tracking and resolution of tickets for middleware (log collection and analysis, configuration changes, troubleshooting).
9. attention and monitoring of the different communication channels mail, emergency call, slack (fls team, mx team, bofa, santander, bay, etc.) among others.
10. attend and participate in work/team meetings.
11. participate proactively with process improvements and documentation.
