description
this position is responsible for inspecting and verifying developed tasks by signal maintainers and/or technician teams in order to standardize the process to maintain and improve availability and maintainability of all equipment in a territory assigned.
accountabilities
1. inspects and verifies field signal and warning devices operation in order to standardize kcsm and arema (american railway engineering and maintenance of way association).
2. inspects a team of technicians, carrying out periodical journeys for the physical inspection for an assigned territory, to guarantee that the maintenance tasks align with the procedures and established standards.
3. analyzes the values of operation of the equipment, visits the sites and checks the tasks assigned in work order by software system performed by technicians and maintainers register binnacles, detects and registers deviations in the operation values.
4. verifies the repair of the equipment, informs the personnel about the daily and weekly job requests, to ensure the availability and functionality of the signaling system.
5. verifies the operation of the warning devices beside the tracks (dalv), carries out periodical journeys to the equipment for the guarantee of the efficient operation of the equipment.
6. performs job briefing to alert potential risks in performing the tasks assigned to the working day.
7. ensures proper operation of dalv and analyzes historical data stored.
8. demonstrates operational excellence by knowing and applying the business requirements. Demonstrates customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
9. understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
10. defines and communicates clearly the teams roles and responsibilities; holds people accountable for accomplishing objectives; recognizes and rewards people who achieve results and deliver on performance expectations; provides pinpointed (specific & measurable) feedback on performance.

ideal candidate qualifications:
required
1. high school diploma or equivalent
2. minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3. specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations
preferred
1. two (2) years of relevant professional experience in field maintenance signal devices at least.
working conditions
1. shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
2. this position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
