*responsibilities*
1. Requirements gathering: collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, business users, and development teams, to gather and analyze business requirements related to offender management software solutions.
2. Solution design: translate business requirements into technical specifications and design documents, ensuring alignment with syscon justice systems' product offerings and capabilities.
3. System integration: facilitate the integration of syscon justice systems' software solutions with existing systems and technologies deployed in correctional facilities, ensuring seamless interoperability and data exchange. This includes managing third-party integrations and coordinating with external service providers to ensure smooth integration processes.
4. Interface ba’s: liaise with interface business analysts to understand interface requirements between different software systems and ensure smooth communication and coordination for successful integration efforts.
5. Understanding of technology: possess a deep understanding of technology and its possibilities to effectively evaluate and propose feasible technical solutions that address business needs and requirements.
6. Legacy systems migration: collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess, plan, and execute migration strategies for transitioning legacy systems to our target offender management software solutions, ensuring mínimal disruption to client operations.
7. Quality assurance: work closely with qa teams to define test cases, conduct functional testing, and validate software functionalities against business requirements.
8. Change management: assess the impact of proposed changes to existing software solutions, evaluate risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to client operations.
9. Client support: provide technical assistance and support to clients during software implementation, troubleshooting issues, and resolving technical challenges in a timely manner.
10. Documentation: maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, technical specifications, and solution designs, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders.
11. Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and innovation in offender management software solutions, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of syscon justice systems' product offerings.
*requirements*
- bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- minimum 5 yrs proven experience as a business analyst or systems analyst in the software industry, preferably with exposure to the correctional sector.
- strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- solid understanding of software development lifecycle (sdlc) methodologies, including agile and waterfall.
- experience with database technologies, system integration, and software testing practices.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with clients at all levels.
- detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- knowledge of offender management processes and regulations is a plus.
