*job description*:supervises the assigned accounting team for a group or region.responsible for daily general ledger activities, account reconciliations including workload distribution and assignment of tasks.such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned*principal responsibilities:- supervise staff - responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, daily feedback review monthly account analysis of balance sheet accounts, authorize adjusting entries as needed, and review status of all significant accounts with director/vp.- coordinate the preparation and entry of month-end journal entries.- coordinate preparation of required financial reports for corporate accounting and generation of internal financial packages.- interact with sbs or operating groups to resolve problems, perform research and support.- work on interface problems between financial systems and division systems.- inventory accounting supervisor: in addition to performing some of the above duties: track, analyze and reconcile inventory accounts and inventory reserve accounts.- responsible for departmental budget to actual analysis preparation and distribution, including monthly review meetings and follow up with department owners and elevation to director/vp for potential budget overruns for actioning.- responsible for preparing annual budgeting process, including working with department owners and foreign subsidiary finance teams to prepare budgets, load to budgeting system, validation and analysis.- review analysis and status with director/vp.- coordinate corp hq monthly forecast and quarterly 5-quarter rolling forecasts with department owners and foreign subsidiary finance teams, prepare analysis and review with director/vp.- may perform special projects as needed supervise staff initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions: employment, termination, performance and salary reviews for assigned employees, responsible for hiring, monitoring performance and providing feedback.
