job summary
lead the manufacturing engineering department to operate efficiently, with integrity and enthusiasm, aiming for excellence in all endeavors. Be a creative, proactive member of the management team, focused on continuous improvement.
essential duties and responsibilities
1. work closely with test and quality engineering leads and the manufacturing shift lead to optimize, improve, and execute process tests according to plan.
2. manage and lead manufacturing engineers and machine support engineers, coordinating daily activities to support the manufacturing plan.
3. display expert knowledge of the corporate manufacturing engineering environment and share this information within the me function.
4. understand and share knowledge of the internal and external engineering environments.
5. drive efficiencies and develop new technical systems; support evaluation and future equipment needs.
6. assist in labor forecasting and skills planning aligned with new business needs.
7. benchmark technology and promote best-in-class engineering solutions.
8. lead and manage the manufacturing engineering function, including performance management, training, and development of team members.
9. foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
10. create and manage succession plans for the engineering team.
11. build effective relationships with external and internal customers, providing expert problem-solving and support.
12. support business development by assessing customer needs and providing tools and strategies for quoting and solutions.
13. identify internal customer needs and promote a continuous improvement culture focused on cost, quality, and delivery.
14. establish service level agreements and drive site and global objectives through focus, commitment, and lean deployment.
15. lead key meetings and initiatives as required.
