*country controller* to join our dynamic team.
as the mexico controller, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a robust accounting framework and internal controls, ensuring meticulous financial records that adhere to local laws, us-gaap, and corporate policies.
in this pivotal position, you will closely collaborate with our finance leadership team, leveraging the expertise of our epam global shared services center (ssc) teams.

responsibilities
- maintain an effective accounting framework under both local gaap and us gaap, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
- review and analyze monthly results during each closing to ensure the accuracy of the reported trial balance
- establish and maintain an effective local internal control environment in accordance with sox requirements and company policies
- coordinate statutory and corporate audits, ensuring adherence to deadlines and filing requirements
- ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including timely filing of tax returns and addressing tax authority inquiries
- monitor intercompany transactions and adhere to transfer pricing policy
- collaborate closely with the fp&a team, providing support and insights for management inquiries
- assist in the annual budgeting process and monitor expenses in local financials
- manage a team of 4 accountants in mexico, providing guidance and support
- support treasury functions and contribute to cash forecasting
- assist ap and procurement teams in resolving local vendor inquiries
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent
- holder of a local equivalent of a valid cpa qualification
- minimum of 10 years of working experience in accounting, either at a multinational company or in audit services (big4)
- minimum of 5 years of working experience as chief accountant or controller at a multinational company in mexico
- excellent knowledge of statutory and ifrs/us-gaap accounting standards, including analysis and reporting
- solid understanding of tax and local regulations, including transfer pricing frameworks
- high integrity standards and reliability
- strong understanding of collaboration within finance and with other local/global colleagues
- strong analytical and it skills (preferably sap, erp, ms-office)
- ambitious, polished, highly articulate, and possessing strong interpersonal skills
- excellent communication skills in both written and spoken english and spanish
