main responsibilities
* oversee all financial operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
* coordinate the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
* ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
* monitor and develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance profitability.
* support department heads in understanding their financial performance, providing guidance and insights.
* lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
* engage with external auditors and manage the audit process.
* conduct regular analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
requirements
to be successful as a financial controller at belmond, you will need:
* a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; master's or cpa preferred.
* minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
* strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
* proficiency in financial software and microsoft office, especially excel.
* excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* strong leadership abilities with a collaborative approach.
* fluent in english; additional languages are a plus.
