position summary
leads a team of approximately 80 production workers within assembly, welding, and fabrication operations.
responsible for the area kpis of safety, 5s, sdwt events, ideas system, visual fabric, as well as planning, execution, and implementation of problem solving projects with a3 methodology, cost reduction projects, green projects, kaizen, and jidoka projects in the area. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring systems and tools such as line balancing, amef, autonomous maintenance, kan-ban, fixtures, and poka-yokes, 3no system.

* leads, generates, and implements activities to ensure quality and continuous improvement culture.
* manages human resources throughout the employee life cycle.
* administers company policies, work rules, collective bargaining agreements, and procedures and addresses issues.
* makes significant continuous improvement daily activities to achieve operational excellence.
responsible for hiring and terminating personnel as needed.
education degree
* bachelor's degree in engineering general.
required experience
* 8 to 10 years experience in combined welding, assembly operations, and/or cnc machining and sheet metal operations synchronized as value stream operations line – heavy manufacturing.
* 5 years of supervisory experience.
* knowledge of 5s, jidoka, smed, poka-yoke, one piece flow, lean principles, and mudas.
* knowledge of methodologies for problem solving, a3, ishikawa, 5w1h, doe.
* demonstrated technical knowledge related to area of responsibility, control, pneumatics, instrumentation.
* experience with iso, fda, gmp, asme, stps/osha, or other similar regulatory or standards organizations.
* excellent organizational, communication, team-building, coaching, and decision-making skills.
* effective interpersonal and influence management skills to interact with cross-functional team members.
* must be able to read and write in english.
preferred experience
* general production floor environment. Sedentary work – light lifting and carrying, occasional bending, stooping, twisting, walking, standing, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
* requires seeing and the ability to distinguish shape, size, distance, motion, and depth.
* requires hearing and the ability to speak and communicate effectively with others. May include the use of assistive devices.
* intuitive, self-directed, and objective to receive and give instructions.
