general purpose of the position:
the treasury and payments manager will manage a small team responsible for the companywide accounts payable and treasury function which includes maintaining bank relationships, reviewing/executing vendor payments, investing of excess cash, and other responsibilities of the area. This instrumental role will coordinate with various business partners across the group for approvals, process improvements, system implementations, and other topics as needed.
key responsibilities:
* maintain worldwide bank account structure including opening and closing accounts, updating signatories and tokens, and responding to bank compliance requests.
* review invoices and contracts for accuracy and approval and execute payment timely, including coordination of fx purchases as required.
* manage companywide (visa, amex, mastercard – across mx, usa and other countries) credit cards ensuring payment within deadlines and review/approval of charges by cardholders. Issue/cancel new cards as required.
* review and execute daily investment strategy as it relates to long-term goals and working capital needs.
* identify areas of potential internal control exposure and areas for improving operational efficiency and take corrective action.
* prepare cash forecasting (accounts payable, tax payments, payroll funding and other daily needs) and variance analysis.
* manage debt portfolio to ensure compliance with all key covenants and reporting obligations.
* manage kyc requests and other bank compliance and legal documentation as required.
* act as subject matter expert for payment processes including ach, credit cards, lockboxes, and other payment methods.
* oversee internal reporting for various kpis and system exports, work with database team for possibility of automation.
* ad hoc projects as requested.
qualifications:
* 8+ years of experience in treasury and payables department with experience managing a team.
* fluent in english and spanish – written and spoken.
* highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects.
* strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit.
* ability to lead complex projects that involve coordinating work across other departments and strict deadlines; leads with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
* advanced excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookup’s. Sap experience a plus.
* trustworthy, professional and reliable.
* ability to work in the details yet summarize projects and details at an executive level. Comfort discussing topics with c-suite.
* sap erp experience desired with additional treasury tool exposure a plus.
* experience with cash flow forecasting.
* experience reviewing contracts and negotiating debt and guarantee/trust instruments.
* experience working with both large (banorte, santander, bbva, jpm/chase, etc.) and small banks.
* experience with banking, credit cards and payables on a global scale (mexico, usa, europe, etc.).
