*main responsibilities*:
- designs, plans and performs verifications for parts, assemblies or products appearance, dimension and functionality according to inspection plans, engineering standards and blue prints for manufactured and purchased material of high complexity.
improves quality activities by using quality systems with a complete scope and depth.
- may program coordinate measuring machines.
- may work direct wage inspectors.
(experience at the quality tech ii job with an overall knowledge of product functionality, engineering specifications, and manufacturing processes and a technical degree or equivalent experience).
- facilitates, validates and audits the quality processes for the complex manufacturing processes such as heat treat, multiple step machining and assembly.
- performs quality verifications, audits and complex special investigations
*what skills you need*:
- designs, plans and performs parts, assemblies or product appearance, dimension and functionality verifications according to the inspection plans, engineering standards, programming, using the most complex measuring systems.
- plans, develops and reports process quality audits.
investigates audit findings related issues.
gathers and keeps data regarding investigations.
- analyzes databases, draws conclusions, summarizes reports, suggests and implements corrective actions to improve or solve medium-high complex problems.
acts as a liaison between quality organization and all other areas.
- follows-up on the accomplishment of corrective and preventative actions.
- participates and supports quality planning and formulates quality plans for new products or major current product changes within the product delivery and order fulfillment processes.
- performs special investigations of medium-high complexity for both internal and external (warranty claims) quality problems to get data, find root causes and suggest solutions or engineering changes.
- assists supervisor in coordinating work direction of lower-level technicians and/or wage inspectors.
- coordinate and participates in trainings with the technicians.
*what makes you stand out*:
- knowledge of basic data analysis techniques.
(e.g.
pareto charts, histograms, gantt chart, pie and bar charts and control plans.)
- knowledge of manufacturing processes (thermal cutting, welding, paint, machining, press break, etc.,)
- knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- knowledge of 8d's methodology and quality systems
- knowledge of standard quality tools such as fmea (failure modes effect analysis), spc (statistical process control), root cause analysis, statistics.
- knowledge of industry standards for dimension and tolerancing, weld symbols, etc.
- knowledge of statistical software (minitab, spss, etc.,)
