Job purpose
in this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement business strategy for our north america contact flexibles & tubes. This is a challenging and dynamic role where the main responsibility is to connect with the business and develop a relationship with suppliers with the objective of delivering consumer needs, business growth, and our external social and environmental commitments at a competitive level.
what will your main responsibilities be
ownership:
1. develop strategies that are aligned to the business direction.
2. business partnering, manage internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Procurement, r&d, logistics, operations, sourcing units).
3. ensure competitive buying through industry benchmark, should-cost analysis, product innovation, and market price movement monitoring.
4. ensure service by developing a resilient sourcing and sla in place.
5. work with cross-functional teams to achieve product spec and manufacturing optimization.
6. be the go-to person for the assigned categories for procurement and supplier related tasks & questions.
procurement activities:
1. take part in the overall sourcing strategy of flexibles & tubes in north america.
2. support the team to achieve its goals and objectives and monitor target delivery.
3. own and coordinate procurement/supply chain projects where required.
4. price forecasting to ensure forecast bias & accuracy in target (of assigned categories & suppliers) and mitigation – work closely with finance bp to receive and interpret material inflation, bringing material dynamics from portfolio teams and external market insights, translating to business impact.
5. ensure contracts compliance.
6. ensure payment resolution if price mismatch.
7. support wow (way of working) improvements: identify metrics, tools (e.g. digitalization), process, align and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize wow.
8. support the procurement manager where required.
9. support savings program – responsible for delivering nmci co-leading material efficiency and supporting governance and implementation of projects.
10. disruptive sourcing models – continuously benchmark sourcing and buying capabilities via an intimate understanding of material value chains, developing disruptive solutions that secure long-term competitiveness (e.g. Flexhub, localization projects).
11. sustainability is at the heart of this role through sustainable structures implementation in flexible, plastics reduction (paper, pcr implementation, and recyclability commitments). The role will involve driving the sustainability agenda with clear cost glidepaths, delivering purpose with business priorities.
12. define and implement a resilience plan for each market within the cluster.
what you'll need to succeed?
1. university degree.
2. self-starter with high accountability & responsibility standards.
3. strong analytical and it skills: advanced excel, powerbi, sap, icat, aravo, dciw (invoice systems), srs, plm knowledge essential.
4. good negotiation skills.
5. strong communication and presentation skills: ability to present key findings in a crisp way and get people onboard.
6. strong project management and organization skills: strong at execution and proactively finding solutions and improvements.
7. negotiation: ability to find common ground and commercially acceptable solutions, with risk identification and management.
8. languages: spanish (fluent), english (must; fluent).
9. analytical capability and resilient behavior.
10. self-management (priority setting, risk analysis, resources).
11. be result and solution-oriented; able to solve (unexpected) problems (on short notice).
