- post-graduate work preferred
- 5-8 years of procurement management (strategic sourcing/ page 5 of 5 purchasing/ supply chain), or equivalent related experience
- 3-5 years of procurement-related management experience within the automotive industry
- experience managing multiple commodities

- staffing and human development
- direct, develop and motivate high-performing plant procurement operations and mro warehouse teams through judicious staff selection, focused training, and human development based on intentional succession planning for metalsa's future challenges.
- supplier identification and development
- guide the plant procurement staff in identifying and/or developing an optimal, rationalized ("right-sized") supply base that is stable, highly competitive and well-positioned in terms of total cost, responsiveness, quality, delivery, geographic proximity, technological capabilities and the ability to provide innovative solutions that support metalsa's current and future supply needs.
- pricing and commercial terms negotiation
- ovesee the request for quotation process for indirect materials and services in accordance with user requirements.
provide negotiation support for critical contracts and supply situations that have a significant impact on metalsa's profitability and/or customer service performance.
- operational execution
- in compliance with established metalsa authorization levels, supervise execution of purchase orders and delivery agreements with selected suppliers.
ensure that order follow-up activity is performed as required, including expediting delivery, arranging invoice payment and resolving discrepancies or escalations.
- inventory planning and warehouse management
- direct warehouse functions for indirect materials, driving reduced costs through efficient materials management methods.
reduce inventory costs and maintain high service levels by managing the mro replenishment process.
based on consumption, lead times, minimum lot and/or package sizes, maintain appropriate reorder points in the mrp system.
implement consignment arrangements where possible.
reduce redundancy through standardization of products purchased.
- cost reduction/ quality initiatives
- lead/ participate in cost reduction initiatives and value analysis/value engineering (va/ve) improvement projects with suppliers and key operational stakeholders
- supplier performance and relationship management
- manage supplier relationships and develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
hold suppliers accountable for high performance levels and drive continuous improvement.
- performance management/ kpis
- deliver high performance to the organization by implementing relevant key performance indicators (kpis), rewarding achievements and driving corrective action where necessary.
- records and confidentiality
- document activity and retain historical files that are organized, accurate and accessible to designated metalsa staff as needed, while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality within metalsa and with the supply base.
