*role overview*
we are seeking a highly organized and proactive *dispatcher/logistics coordinator* to join our team.
in this role, you will oversee scheduling, dispatching, and communications to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service.
you will coordinate crews, trucks, and routes while addressing unexpected changes with efficiency and professionalism.
your ability to prioritize tasks, optimize schedules, and maintain clear communication with managers and customers is key to the success of our operations.
this is an on-site position.
however, you will be working for a waste management comapny in the eastern zone of the us.
*key responsibilities*:
*scheduling*:
- manage daily schedules, intake customer orders, and update information in the scheduling app promptly.
- confirm schedules with customers and assign appropriate crews/trucks to each job.
- optimize routes to minimize travel time and prioritize job sites based on urgency.
*dispatching*:
- provide schedules to managers and drivers, ensuring all details are communicated clearly.
- re-route trucks and adjust schedules in response to unforeseen circumstances or urgent requests.
- monitor progress and redirect resources as needed for timely job completion.
*communication*:
- respond to customer inquiries and manager requests within 15 minutes.
- maintain ongoing communication with managers, crews, and customers regarding updates, job completions, and changes.
- coordinate with managers for any issues, emergencies, or adjustments on job sites.
*availability*
- office hours: monday-thursday, 8:00 am-6:00 pm est, and friday until 4:00 pm est.
- sunday: remote scheduling support for 2 hours (2:00-6:00 pm est).
- collaborate with the rubbish manager for any schedule adjustments after hours.
*what we're looking for*:
- proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or operations coordination.
- excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- strong communication abilities and a customer-focused approach.
- familiarity with scheduling apps and tools.
- familiarity with the zones, roads and street in ny and nj is valuable.
- problem-solving skills to handle changes and emergencies effectively.
