role's mission:
key responsibilities:
- oversee all accounting operations including but not limited to the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings specific to the latam region.
- develop and enforce internal controls to maintain the integrity of all financial transactions and reporting.
- lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- coordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors.
- manage the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, including variance analysis and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- implement and optimize financial systems and technology to improve efficiency and provide strategic data analytics.
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, providing financial insights and risk assessment.
- stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation in the latam region, adapting company policies as necessary to maintain compliance.
- mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
a master's degree or cpa (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
experience in the fintech or financial services industry, particularly within the latam market, is strongly desired.
- comprehensive understanding of mexican gaap & ifrs
- proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and the development of internal controls.
- strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
- fluent in spanish and english, with excellent communication skills.
- proficient in financial software systems and advanced excel skills.
experience with erp systems is a plus (oracle)
