*the global actuarial systems team is a small, agile group of technology enthusiasts.
we are tasked with solving the complex data needs of both us and international reserving actuaries.
our group is responsible for collating data from several disparate systems and platforms and providing analytic solutions for the world's largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer.
our systems are the foundation for the loss triangles which are reported externally, and which ensure we have the capital to pay future claims.
*responsibilities*- create and implement procedures and functions using sql- examine existing sql queries for potential enhancements- design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code- set up automated processes, when required, for handover to the deployment team- document current or new processes- implement bi processes so end users can quickly and easily derive value from billion row datasets- deliver quality solutions on time and within budget, following sdlc best practices in the documentation of design specifications and unit test plans- provide on-call production support monthly during the book-close period- use service now to create and manage change requests*qualifications*- 4+ years sql server development experience- knowledge of creating sql queries based on a specified structure and syntax- strong mssql development skills (sql server, ssis, ssrs)- experience with devops and git- solid understanding of stored procedure generation, debugging, and execution.- ability to deal with complicated database queries- experience with agile methodologies, prioritizing backlog, etc.
