*position summary*:
we are currently recruiting for an applications engineer to join our existing team within our power & industrial (p&i) division.
the vendor inspector / expeditor will be responsible for all quality inspection and expediting aspects of the given project assigned - including cost tracking, planning workload against deliverable schedule, supplier, customer and internal interface
the vendor inspector / expeditor has responsibility ensuring that final product is compliant with the client contract requirements as well as with aaf standards set out in accordance with the inspection and test plan.
others have the responsibility of delivering the items to the vendor inspector / expeditor (itp, manufacturing programme, design outputs, etc.).
*position responsibilities*:
- safe, accurate, on time, cost compliant quality deliverables for all projects.
- coordinate and control the inspection activities at strategic suppliers for an assigned project.
- support the quality engineer, pm/pe and oml in all level of supplier (quality) communications.
- support the quality engineer, pm/pe and oml in customer communications relating to product quality.
- responsible for product conformance - inspection of incoming parts, parts manufacture, in-process manufacture, and final assembly of product to engineering drawings, specifications and company standards.
- prepare and review relevant documentation required to conduct inspections.
- review of quality records, material certification, test reports etc to verify parts and product conformance.
- verify manufacturing status being reported to head office by the supplier is a true account of the actual status
- report any risks / opportunities regarding quality, delivery and general performance of the supplier to the operations group.
