*job description*:
*position summary*:
quality technician responsible for supporting the assigned product launches, engineering change and special projects at plant level.
*essential functions*:
- lead completion of gage r&r's, capability studies, & dimensional reports for parts, gages, & testers.
- review quality kpi's (warranties, campaigns, internal and external claims) for improvements.
- review customer portals for daily reports.
- review core documents meet customer specific requirements for ppap submission according to ppap checklist.
- manage evidence of ppap submission and approval as assigned by ppap coordinator.
- assign and follow up the ipa(initial product audit) numbers and approval on team center.
- manage and control the inventory of ppap parts on assigned red cages and control on sap.
*management & supervisory responsibilities*:
- report to ppap coordinator.
- job *is* *not directly* responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).
*knowledge*:
- pfmea, spc & msa aiag manuals.
- automotive/trucking industry quality requirements and standards a plus.
*experience*:
- 1 year of experience in a quality and or engineering environment as auditor or technician.
*skills*:
- knowledge of aiag manuals pfmea, spc, msa and ppap.
- proficient in microsoft office products (word, excel, powerpoint, access).
- read, write, and understand english for documentation review.
*education/certifications*:
- bs/bset degree required in manufacturing, process or mechanical engineering or 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- working knowledge of automotive/trucking industry quality requirements and standards a plus.
